Co’Motion Dance Theater provides the magic of a live theater event for your school, blending the lesson and the magic without "dancing down" to your audience. The company presents a fast paced Assembly Performance that quickly engages the minds and imaginations of your students, and entertains as well as educates them. During the performance, your students will delight to the riotously funny antics of dances such as "How Sweat It Is" in which sweat pants undergo magical transformations. They will experience the dizzying thrill of "Draidel", a visually spectacular combination of movement and color, and feel the chill of the more serious dances such as the physically demanding "Tightly Reined." Co’Motion Dance Theater has a rapport with an audience that leads to smiling faces and the start of an understanding not only of modern dance, but of the basic components of movement: shape, line, energy, force. The lecture/demonstration included in the performance shows students how dancers make ordinary movement into dance by using those basic components. The narrated format of the performance allows students to become informed about modern dance as well as entertained. All performances are adapted to your students’ age and experience levels.
